The much-anticipated ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is underway with a thrilling opening match between hosts Pakistan and New Zealand at the National Stadium in Karachi. While the action on the field has been electrifying, fans in the stands have expressed disappointment with the newly revamped stadium, particularly the viewing experience in certain enclosures.
Social media has been flooded with videos and posts from fans sharing their experiences at the stadium. One particular video from the VIP enclosure has sparked widespread criticism, as it highlights the limited visibility for spectators due to obstructive structures and poor seating arrangements.
The ‘Helmet Vision’ Experience at Karachi Stadium
A fan shared a video from the VIP enclosure, showcasing the restricted view of the field caused by the metal beams and railings of the stadium’s roof structure. The video, which quickly went viral, shows how fans seated in the enclosure struggle to get a clear view of the action on the field.
The fan sarcastically referred to the experience as “Helmet vision,” likening the obstructed view to watching the game through the narrow slit of a cricket helmet.
Even celebrities have weighed in on the issue. Renowned actor Adnan Siddiqui, who was present at the match, reportedly expressed his dissatisfaction with the VIP enclosure.
The National Stadium in Karachi underwent significant renovations ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy, intending to modernize the facility and enhance the fan experience. However, the backlash from fans suggests that the revamp may have fallen short of expectations.
