PCB Demands Clarification From ICC Regarding Champions Trophy Logo Change For India Match

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has formally requested an explanation from the International Cricket Council (ICC) following an incident during Thursday’s India vs. Bangladesh Champions Trophy 2025 match in Dubai.

The Champions Trophy logo displayed during the live broadcast featured the event’s name but conspicuously omitted Pakistan—the tournament’s official host nation—from the branding, which remained on-screen for the entirety of the match. This omission has raised eyebrows, particularly since the broadcast graphics for other tournament matches, including the opening fixture between Pakistan and New Zealand in Karachi, had clearly displayed both the event title and Pakistan’s name.

Branding missing

The PCB has expressed dissatisfaction with the situation, formally requesting assurances from the ICC that this issue will not be repeated.

The ICC had earlier attributed the omission to a technical glitch during the broadcast. However, the PCB could not be satisfied with the answer, citing that broadcast graphics are typically prepared well in advance and that Pakistan’s name was present for the tournament’s opening game.

The board finds it hard to understand why the error occurred during the Bangladesh-India match. The ICC has since assured the PCB that this issue was an isolated incident and will not impact future broadcasts, including those for the upcoming high-profile Pakistan vs. India clash on Sunday.

This incident comes against the backdrop of a broader dispute over the hosting of the ICC Champions Trophy between the BCCI and PCB. The agreed resolution saw India’s matches moved to Dubai, with the rest of the tournament taking place in Pakistan.

With the next match between India and Pakistan in Dubai expected to draw significant global attention, the PCB will be keen to avoid any further broadcast discrepancies and ensure that the tournament runs smoothly as planned.
