Oppo has officially launched the A5 Pro in the global market, a new variant of the Chinese model which was released in December. The international model comes with a different chipset, display specifications, and durability features while retaining Oppo’s signature design and software experience.
The Oppo A5 Pro (Global) features a 6.67-inch IPS LCD with an HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, giving it a massive kickback from the 6.7-inch AMOLED offered on the Chinese model. The panel boasts 1,000 nits of peak brightness, making it more readable in bright conditions.
One of the key highlights of this model is its IP66/68/69 water and dust resistance rating, along with MIL-STD-810H military-grade certification. Another major difference is that the global model has a side-mounted fingerprint compared to an under-display fingerprint sensor found on the Chinese model.
Oppo has also introduced 360-degree drop resistance, making the device more durable against accidental falls. The phone is available in Flower Pink and Mocha Brown color options.
Powering the Oppo A5 Pro (Global) is the Dimensity 6300 chipset, a downgrade from the Chinese model which has the Dminesity 7300. The phone is available in 6 GB or 8 GB RAM variants, coupled with 128 GB or 256 GB storage. It runs on ColorOS 15, based on Android 15, offering the latest software experience with improved features and optimizations.
The rear camera system consists of a 50MP main sensor paired with a 2MP depth sensor, the same as the Chinese model. The 8MP front camera is housed in the punch-hole cutout for selfies, while the Chinese model has a 16MP selfie camera.
The device is powered by a massive 5,800 mAh battery, which supports 45W wired charging for faster recharging times. With this capacity, the phone aims to provide extended battery life for daily use. Meanwhile, the Chinese model offers a Si/C Li-Ion 6,000 mAh battery with even faster 80W wired Charging,
In terms of pricing, the 6 GB/128 GB variant is priced at $243, while the 8 GB/256 GB version costs $290. The Chinese model also has 256 GB/12 GB, 512 GB/8 GB, and 512 GB/12 GB, models but those are not coming to the international market. The company expects to roll out the global variant in multiple markets soon.
