State Bank of Pakistan Announces Bank Holiday for Ramadan

The State Bank of Pakistan has officially announced that Monday, March 3, 2025, will be observed as a ‘Bank Holiday’ across the country. This holiday coincides with the first day of Ramadan and is designated for Zakat deduction.

According to the official notification, all banks, Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), and Microfinance Banks (MFBs) will remain closed for public dealing on this date. However, the State Bank clarified that all banking employees must report to work as usual, treating it as a working day except for public-facing services.

Customers are advised to plan their banking needs accordingly and utilize digital banking services, which will remain operational during this period. ATMs and online banking platforms will continue to function normally.
