Sindh Promises Land to Families of those Killed by Heavy Traffic

Expressing frustration over the provincial government’s inaction in addressing dumper-related accidents in the city, Governor Kamran Khan Tessori announced on Saturday that he would provide residential plots as financial assistance to the victims’ families.

Speaking at a press conference at the Governor House, he reiterated his commitment to standing up for the people’s rights. He stated that if he had the necessary authority, no one would fall victim to heavy vehicle accidents.

The governor pledged to visit the families of those killed by dumper truck drivers in the past two months and provide them with residential plots. “No amount of money can replace a lost life, but financial support can help ease their suffering,” he said.

Mr. Tessori also revealed that he had written to Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, urging the formation of a commission to investigate heavy vehicle accidents. However, he had yet to receive a response. “I can write letters, demand answers, and monitor the situation, but what more can I do? Children are being crushed under these vehicles,” he lamented. He added that he had asked the DIG Traffic to take action, warning that he would intervene personally if no measures were taken.
