Tecno Unveils Camon 40 Series at MWC 2025 With Decent Mid-range Specs

Tecno has officially launched the Camon 40 series at MWC 2025, introducing four new smartphones. The lineup includes the Camon 40, Camon 40 Pro, Camon 40 Pro 5G, and the flagship Camon 40 Premier 5G. Each model features a 50MP Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) primary camera, with the Premier variant packing an impressive triple 50MP rear camera setup.

Design and Display

All models in the Camon 40 series come with AMOLED displays, ensuring vivid colors and smooth performance. The Camon 40, Camon 40 Pro, and Camon 40 Pro 5G sport a 6.78-inch 1080p panel with a 120Hz or 144Hz refresh rate, while the Camon 40 Premier 5G boasts a 6.67-inch 1260p display with a 144Hz refresh rate.

Color options vary slightly across models. The Camon 40 and Camon 40 Pro are available in black, white, and emerald green, while the Camon 40 Premier 5G is available in Black and Emerald Green.

Performance and Software

MediaTek’s Helio G100 chipset powers the Camon 40, while the Camon 40 Pro retains the same processor but gets an upgraded 50MP front camera.

For users looking for 5G connectivity, the Camon 40 Pro 5G steps up with the Dimensity 7300 5G chipset, enhancing the display with a 144Hz refresh rate. Meanwhile, the Camon 40 Premier 5G runs on the more powerful Dimensity 8350 5G AI processor, offering better AI capabilities and overall performance.

All models boot Android 15 out of the box and stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos.

Camera System

The Camon 40 features a 50MP OIS main camera, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a depth sensor. The Camon 40 Pro shares the same rear setup but upgrades the selfie camera to 50MP with autofocus.

The 40 Pro 5G maintains the same camera hardware as the Pro model but adds 5G connectivity and a smoother 144Hz display.

The Camon 40 Premier 5G takes imaging to the next level, featuring a triple 50MP rear camera setup, including a 50MP primary sensor with OIS, a 50MP 3x telephoto lens, and a 50MP ultrawide shooter. The front camera also boasts a 50MP sensor with autofocus, making it a powerhouse for photography enthusiasts.

Battery and Pricing

Battery life is another strong suit of the series. The Camon 40, Camon 40 Pro, and Camon 40 Pro 5G all come with a 5,200mAh battery, with 45W fast charging. The Camon 40 Premier 5G features a 5,100mAh battery with 70W fast charging.

Tecno has yet to announce official pricing and availability for the Camon 40 series, but details are expected to be shared soon.
