The Sindh government has introduced a five-year age relaxation for applicants seeking government jobs, aiming to widen employment opportunities across the province.
A notification issued by the Chief Secretary states that the relaxation will apply from January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2026. Under the new policy, candidates can apply for most government jobs until age 33, except for positions requiring the SCE.
The decision follows past legal challenges over age limits for government jobs. In a previous ruling, the Supreme Court upheld a Sindh High Court verdict that struck down a 2020 notification allowing 15 years of age relaxation.
Following the court’s decision, the maximum age limit for applicants had been reduced to 28 years.
The move is expected to benefit thousands of job seekers previously disqualified due to age restrictions. However, officials emphasize that all appointments will still adhere to merit-based selection processes.
By offering limited age relaxation, the Sindh government aims to provide relief to job seekers while ensuring compliance with judicial guidelines.
