Zalmi Star Ditches PSL to Play for Mumbai Indians in IPL

South African allrounder Corbin Bosch has decided to forgo his contract with Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) to join the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Bosch will replace the injured Lizaad Williams in the Mumbai franchise.

Corbin Bosch was a diamond pick for Peshawar Zalmi during the PSL 2025 draft held in January. However, with the PSL now scheduled to take place in an April-May window, it clashes directly with the IPL, prompting Bosch to make this pivotal decision.

At 30 years old, Bosch is yet to make his IPL debut, but he has previously been associated with the Rajasthan Royals as a reserve player. His experience with the Mumbai Indians is not entirely new, as he was part of their title-winning side in the SA20 league, where he played for MI Cape Town. During the SA20 season, Bosch showcased his skills by taking 11 wickets in seven innings at an economy rate of 8.68, contributing significantly to MI Cape Town’s maiden title.

In joining the Mumbai Indians, Bosch will reunite with his SA20 teammate Ryan Rickelton and will slot in as the third seam-bowling allrounder behind captain Hardik Pandya and Raj Bawa.

It remains to be seen how Peshawar Zalmi will cope with the loss of their star signing as PSL 10 season approaches. The franchise lacks a depth in their bowling and Bosch’s absence will surely impact their chances in claiming their second PSL title.

    • Never in a million years will PSL or any other cricket league undermine IPL due to obvious reasons

      • everyone knows that but the clowns who want to copy india believe in the opposite.

  • In the real world, fame and money are the most important factors. Taking sides without considering these two elements isn’t very wise. While the PSL is a good league, the IPL is superior, if not the best.
