A local court in Wazirabad sentenced a man to six months in prison after his first wife filed a complaint against him for marrying a second time without her consent.
According to the police, Ahmad Raza entered into a second marriage without obtaining the required permission from his first wife.
Upon discovering this, his first wife approached the court, stating that she had been married to Raza for eight years and that they had two children together. She asserted that he had remarried without her consent.
Acting on her complaint, the court sentenced Raza to six months in prison and imposed a fine of Rs 500,000.
The verdict was delivered by Wazirabad Additional Sessions Judge Muhammad Aslam Panjotha.
