Oppo has launched the A5 Pro in Indonesia, which mirrors the global model unveiled in February. This Indonesian iteration stands out because of its stronger durability and a Snapdragon chipset instead of the Dimensity chip found on the global model.
Design and Display
In terms of design, the Oppo A5 Pro comes in three colors: Moss Green, Mocha Chocolate, and Blue Silk. It includes a 6.67-inch LCD that boasts a 90Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 720p+, which can reach up to 1,000 nits of brightness. To protect the display, Oppo uses Gorilla Glass 7i and AGC DT-Star D+ glass.
Furthermore, the device has IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings, allowing it to withstand exposure to water and dust. Additionally, the aluminum motherboard cover provides military-grade shock resistance, enhancing its overall durability.
Internals and Software
When it comes to performance, the A5 Pro runs on the Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 1 chipset, which is a 4G-only processor featuring an X11 LTE modem. This chipset includes four Cortex-A73 and four Cortex-A53 cores, along with an Adreno 610 GPU. Moreover, the device offers 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and provides storage options of 128 GB or 256 GB UFS 2.1, with a microSD slot available for additional storage.
Cameras
In terms of photography, the camera setup on the Oppo A5 Pro consists of a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and a 2MP depth sensor, with the main camera capable of recording 4K video at up to 60fps. The 4G model has better video recording than the Dimensity-based 5G variant which was locked to 1080p 30fps.
The 8MP selfie camera features an 80° lens and can record video at 1080p at 30fps.
Battery and Pricing
Finally, the Oppo A5 Pro contains a 5,800 mAh battery that supports 45W SuperVOOC charging, providing sufficient power for extended use. According to Oppo’s claims, users can stream video for up to 17 hours continuously and the battery should retain at least 80% of its original capacity after four years.
In terms of pricing, the A5 Pro is available for around $180 for the 8 GB/128 GB model.
