A dedicated green lane for motorcyclists has been launched in Rawalpindi, following a successful initiative in Lahore. The primary goal is to ensure safer, more organized travel for motorcyclists who often face challenges on crowded roads.
In announcing the new measure, Rawalpindi’s City Traffic Police issued an advisory urging motorcyclists to refrain from frequent lane changes and risky overtaking.
Chief Traffic Officer Rawalpindi, Benish Fatima, highlighted the green lane’s role in reducing accidents and streamlining traffic flow. She emphasized that giving motorcyclists their own designated space fosters a safer environment for all road users.
Fatima also underscored the importance of obeying traffic regulations and actively using the green lane. She explained that these steps are essential to the success of the program and the overall well-being of those on the road.
This initiative underscores the authorities’ determination to enhance road safety in Rawalpindi and build a more efficient transportation system for everyone.

Dear author. Bike lane is a good idea. I’m a frequent user of the same road as a biker. Here are some observations.
1. Going from Koral Chowk to old airport, first we face a police Mobile unit parked just at the entrance of bike lane blocking it.
2. There are at least 8-9 entry and exit areas towards SHAH Khalid colony, Gulzar e Quide etc which are hindering the continuity of bike lane and negating the very purpose of bike lane.
Its good thing for women as day by day a huge number of women are with skooties and bycs.please make sure that every body should follow traffic rules
Yes this is pullesiraat for motorcycles start from gulazrequaid to airport turn about 2 km only, on this 2 km their are Soo many chances to reach your final destination, but people can’t understand
A really stupid step which serves no logical solution to messed up traffic system.
