Sindh Announces Another Public Holiday After Eid

The Government of Sindh has announced a public holiday on April 4, 2025 (Friday) to mark the 46th death anniversary of former Prime Minister Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

According to an official notification issued by the Services, General Administration & Coordination Department, the holiday will apply to all government offices, autonomous bodies, semi-autonomous organizations, corporations, and local councils under the administrative control of the Sindh government. However, essential services will remain operational.

The notification, signed by Sindh Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah, has been forwarded to various government officials and departments, including the Establishment Division, High Court of Sindh, Accountant General Sindh, Sindh Police, and administrative secretaries.

Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, the founder of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), served as Pakistan’s Prime Minister from 1973 to 1977. He was executed on April 4, 1979, following a controversial trial. His death anniversary is observed annually, with PPP supporters and leaders paying tribute to his contributions to Pakistan’s political landscape.

The holiday will provide an opportunity for people to participate in events commemorating Bhutto’s legacy across the province.
