After several weeks of delays and limited communication, Google has officially confirmed the release timeline for its upcoming Pixel 9a. The midrange device, originally unveiled earlier this month, will begin rolling out across multiple countries in April.
The Pixel 9a will first be available on April 10 in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. This marks the official start of the phone’s global availability, following weeks of uncertainty and reported production setbacks.
Shortly after the initial rollout, the device will go on sale on April 14 in several European markets. These include Germany, Spain, Italy, Ireland, France, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Portugal, Switzerland, Poland, Czechia, Romania, Hungary, Slovenia, Slovakia, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, and Finland.
On April 16, the Pixel 9a will reach customers in Australia, India, Singapore, Taiwan, and Malaysia. While the phone is expected to launch in Japan, no official release date has been announced yet for that market.
The Pixel 9a was initially announced with a starting price of $499, but without exact dates. The delay was reportedly due to a component quality issue that affected a limited number of devices. Google postponed the release and lifted review embargoes as a precaution while addressing the issue.
Despite the delay, Google says the problem was limited in scope. Review units have been distributed, and more detailed feedback on the Pixel 9a’s performance and features is expected closer to launch.
