Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday announced a big electricity tariff reduction applicable to all categories of domestic consumers.
Addressing a ceremony in Islamabad, the premier announced a reduction of Rs. 7.41 per unit to Rs. 34.37 per unit for all consumers.
For industrial consumers, the per unit price has been decreased by Rs. 7.59 per unit to Rs. 40.6 per unit.
Pertinently, rates for both categories were Rs. 48.70 and Rs. 58.50 per unit, respectively, in June last year.
This comes after electricity consumption dropped below 7,000MW during Eid-ul-Fitr.
PM also acknowledged the strong support of the Chief of Army Staff, General Asim Munir, and his team in stabilizing the economy.

Never forget all positive indicators are coming bcz we reduced interest rate from 22 to twelve percent.
You will see mericleous improvements in economy if single tax with rate around two to three percent is fixed on individual and business alike is imposed.
Same is with interest rate sould never be above three percent.

Who told you that ? Taxes rate should be proportionate to the level of income.
Interest rates are cut bcz inflation decreased as govt allowed prices to increase. No one can afford this reduces consumption this low inflation.
