Pakistan’s challenging tour of New Zealand has been reflected in the latest ICC Rankings, with most of their players experiencing a sharp decline in the standings. However, fast bowler Haris Rauf and vice-captain Salman Ali Agha stood out as rare bright spots amid an otherwise disappointing away campaign.
Among the few positives for Pakistan in the series was Rauf’s rise in the ICC ODI bowling rankings. His disciplined spell of 2-38 in the opening match helped him climb nine places, securing the 16th spot in the latest update.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s lead pacer, Shaheen Shah Afridi, who was rested for the ODI series, dropped two spots in the rankings. Previously inside the top 10, he now sits at 11th place with 613 rating points. Naseem Shah, ranked 42nd, is the only other Pakistani bowler within the top 50 of the ICC rankings.
