Here’s a Complete Breakdown of New Electricity Unit Prices After Latest Relief

The federal government of Pakistan has reduced electricity tariffs across all consumer categories in an effort to provide relief to households, businesses, and industries across the board.

The revised rates, effective immediately, are expected to significantly reduce energy costs and ease financial pressure on consumers nationwide.

While lifeline consumers—those using up to 100 units—will see no change in tariffs, the largest relief has been offered to other domestic, commercial, and industrial users, with cuts ranging from Rs. 6.14 to Rs. 8.58 per unit depending on the category.

For protected domestic consumers using 1–100 units, the per-unit rate has been slashed by Rs. 6.14, bringing it down from Rs. 14.67 to Rs. 8.52. Similarly, those consuming between 101–200 units will also benefit from a Rs. 6.14 per-unit reduction, with the new rate set at Rs. 11.51.

Non-protected consumers using up to 300 units will see a notable Rs. 7.24 cut, reducing their tariff to Rs. 34.03 per unit from the previous Rs. 41.26. Consumers exceeding 300 units will pay Rs. 48.46 per unit, down from Rs. 55.70—a similar reduction of Rs. 7.24.

The general category of domestic consumers will see a decrease of Rs. 6.71 per unit, with the new rate set at Rs. 31.63. Commercial users will enjoy the steepest cut of Rs. 8.58 per unit, reducing their rate to Rs. 62.47.

General services and industrial consumers have received reductions of Rs. 7.18 and Rs. 7.69, respectively, bringing their rates to Rs. 49.48 and Rs. 40.51 per unit. Bulk category users will now pay Rs. 47.87 per unit—down from Rs. 55.05—while the tariff for agricultural consumers has been brought down by Rs. 7.18 to Rs. 34.58.

Consumers in Azad Kashmir and other regions will also benefit from a Rs. 6.99 per-unit reduction, bringing their new tariff to Rs. 32.69.

The average national tariff has decreased by Rs. 7.41 per unit, now standing at Rs. 37.64 compared to the earlier Rs. 45.05.


  • I am paying rupees 48 and 41.68 for peak and off peak hours respectively and I see no relief here. In other words, government is still forcing me to get more lithium batteries.

  • What about Time-of-Day (ToD) domestic consumers who r currently paying around Rs.41 during off-peak hours & Rs.48 during peak hours?
