How to Apply for Digital Driving License in Punjab

The Punjab Police has rolled out a digital e-license system, allowing drivers across the province to carry and verify their driving permits directly on their smartphones.

This new initiative aims to reduce the number of unlicensed drivers on the road and streamline verification processes for traffic enforcement.

The system is part of a broader campaign by Traffic Police Punjab to ensure all drivers—whether operating motorcycles, cars, or heavy vehicles—comply with licensing regulations.

Those found behind the wheel without a valid driving license could face legal penalties, including fines.

With the e-license system now active, motorists can easily access a digital copy of their license. This electronic document will be accepted by law enforcement as proof of legal driving status.

How to Access the Punjab e-License

Citizens can obtain their digital licenses through the official portal at dlims.punjab.gov.pk.

Users need to:

  • Navigate to the “License Information” section.
  • Select the “E-License” option.
  • Enter their CNIC number and date of birth.
  • Click “Download” to receive a PDF copy of their license.

License Fee Structure

Applicants must pay a nominal PKR 150 test fee. The licensing fee varies based on the validity period:

  • 1-year license: PKR 1,980
  • 2-year license: PKR 3,330
  • 3-year license: PKR 4,680
  • 4-year license: PKR 6,030
  • 5-year license: PKR 7,380

The digital system aims to ease access for new drivers while improving compliance and documentation in traffic management.
