Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has confirmed that April 29 (coinciding with Dhul Qada 1) will be the final day for foreign Umrah pilgrims to exit the Kingdom, as preparations intensify for the upcoming Hajj season.
In an official statement, the ministry also announced that April 13 (Shawwal 15) will be the last day for foreign pilgrims to enter the country for Umrah. Those who remain beyond April 29 will be considered in violation of pilgrimage and visa regulations.
The ministry emphasized that overstaying constitutes a legal offense and warned of strict enforcement measures. Violators—including individuals, service providers, and companies—could face fines of up to SAR 100,000 and possible legal consequences.
All Umrah service providers and sponsors were urged to adhere to the departure deadlines and reporting procedures. “Failure to report pilgrims who overstay will result in the highest level of penalties,” the ministry stated.
The annual Hajj pilgrimage, one of the world’s largest religious gatherings, officially begins on Dhul Qada 1. As part of the established policy, Umrah for foreign pilgrims is temporarily suspended ahead of Hajj to ensure efficient logistics, crowd management, and the safety of all pilgrims during the peak season.
