The Punjab government has officially imposed a ban on the use of hose pipes across the province in a move aimed at conserving water and addressing growing concerns over potential drought.
According to an official notification issued by the Director General of Environment, Dr. Imran Hamid Sheikh, the use of hose pipes for washing vehicles, both in residential and commercial areas, is now strictly prohibited. The restriction comes into effect immediately.
The ban also extends to government offices and commercial buildings, where the use of hose pipes is no longer allowed. Authorities have warned that strict action will be taken against violators.
Dr. Imran Hamid Sheikh emphasized that the measure has been implemented to curb unnecessary water wastage. He noted that with the looming threat of drought, water conservation has become essential.
