Repeated Leopard Attacks in Murree Cause Fear Among Residents

Residents of Seri village in Murree—a scenic hill station nestled between Islamabad and Rawalpindi—live in constant fear and face ongoing financial struggles due to repeated attacks by aggressive wild leopards. While the area’s lush forests and breathtaking landscapes are undeniably beautiful, the sudden appearance of these predators turns that beauty into a source of fear and danger.

In a recent incident, a leopard emerged from the forest and savagely attacked an elderly man’s goats while they were grazing. Such encounters have become disturbingly common, with nearly every household in the village suffering similar losses.

Most villagers rely on livestock for their livelihood, but the increasing frequency of leopard attacks has created widespread panic and insecurity.

Residents claim they have made numerous appeals to the Wildlife Department, but their concerns have been ignored. They are now urging higher authorities to take urgent action and provide compensation for their losses.
