Corbin Bosch Banned from PSL for One Year

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has imposed a one-year ban on South African allrounder Corbin Bosch from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for withdrawing from the 2025 season after being selected as a diamond pick by Peshawar Zalmi.

Bosch, who later joined Mumbai Indians (MI) as an injury replacement in the ongoing Indian Prime League (IPL), prompted the PCB to issue a legal notice for breach of contract.

A PCB statement confirmed Bosch expressed regret for his decision, with the ban barring him from the 2026 PSL season. “I deeply regret my decision to withdraw from the PSL and offer my sincere apologies to the people of Pakistan, Peshawar Zalmi fans, and the cricket community,” Corbin Bosch stated, as quoted by the PCB. “I take full responsibility, accept the penalty fine and ban, and hope to return to the PSL with renewed dedication.”

The PCB’s firm stance aims to deter players from committing to the PSL only to switch to the IPL, especially as the two leagues clash this year from April to May. The PSL scheduled its draft after the IPL auction to secure player availability, attracting high-profile names like David Warner, Daryl Mitchell, Jason Holder, Rassie van der Dussen, and Kane Williamson, who went unsold in the IPL.

Bosch, yet to debut for MI, acknowledged the disappointment caused, particularly to Zalmi supporters. The tenth PSL edition begins April 11, with defending champions Islamabad United facing Lahore Qalandars in Rawalpindi, marking the start of a highly anticipated season.
