Pakistan’s squash prodigy Noor Zaman has etched his name into history, clinching the U23 World Squash Championship title on April 10 at Karachi’s DHA Creek Club. The 21-year-old from Peshawar triumphed over Egypt’s Kareem El Torkey in a gripping men’s final. After going 0-2 in the contest, Zaman made a spectacular comeback to win the final 3-2 and lift the inaugural trophy on home soil—the first world squash event in Pakistan in over two decades.

Zaman’s journey to the title was marked by dominance and resilience. He stormed through the tournament, defeating France’s Melvil Scianimanico, Poland’s Jakub Pytlowany, and Kuwait’s Hussain Alzaatari with ease. In the semi-final, Malaysia’s Ameeshenraj Chandaran retired in the third game due to illness, trailing 2-0 (11-6, 11-2, 6-4 ret.), handing Zaman a swift passage to the final.
