In their toughest test of the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier yet, Pakistan Women made their intent clear as they delivered a commanding all-round performance to rout West Indies Women by 65 runs, moving to the top of the points table.
Choosing to bat first, Pakistan posted a gritty 191 on the board, anchored by a composed 54 from opener Sidra Amin. Muneeba Ali chipped in with a steady 33 at the top, while late contributions from Fatima Sana (15) and Sidra Nawaz (23) ensured the total had enough cushion for the bowlers to work with.
In reply, West Indies never looked settled. The early loss of captain Hayley Matthews—trapped lbw off the first ball by Pakistan’s skipper Fatima Sana—set the tone for a collapse. The Caribbean side was bundled out for 126, with only Shabika Gajnabi (21) and Aaliyah Alleyne (22) offering any resistance.
Fatima Sana led the way with the ball, taking 3/16 from her 7 overs.

Pakistan’s rise to the top makes them the favorites to book their tickets to the Women’s World Cup later this year. A win in any of their two upcoming fixtures against Thailand and Bangladesh will be enough to take them to the promised land.
West Indies, meanwhile, are now looking increasingly unlikely to punch their tickets to India. They will have to beat Bangladesh to stand any chance of making the World Cup, and their odds of that will be low as Hayley Matthews’ team has looked off-color throughout the campaign.
The Qualifier will continue tomorrow with Thailand Women taking on Ireland Women and Bangladesh Women going against Scotland Women.
