WhatsApp’s Video Statuses Get An Upgrade

WhatsApp users on Android are about to get a useful upgrade for the status feature soon. Spotted in the latest beta version for WhatsApp Android (2.25.12.9), status updates with videos will soon be extended up to 90 seconds long, up from the previous 1-minute limit.

As always, the feature was uncovered by WABetaInfo. The report shows that video clips on WhatsApp statuses will soon become uninterruptible for up to 90 seconds, eliminating the need for multiple status updates for a longer video.

Have a look at the screenshot below.

This upgrade comes a year after the video status limit was extended from 30 seconds to 1 minute. Does that mean we will have to wait another year to reach 2 minutes? We shall see.

Keep in mind that even though the beta update is currently available on the Google Play Store, it is not accessible to every beta tester at the moment. The rollout is taking place gradually around the globe, so if you’re hoping to try this feature ahead of release, you will have to wait a while before it becomes available to you.

Since the feature has reached the beta version already, it should not be long before it becomes available to the live version of WhatsApp for Android. As for iOS users, it is unclear when they will get the video status upgrade.
