The Karachi Cattle Market is set to officially open on April 19, with all preparations completed for the Cattle-Friendly Market 2025 located at the Northern Bypass.
Organizers have confirmed that sacrificial animals from various parts of Punjab and Sindh have already begun arriving ahead of Eidul Adha.
“The market will be operational from April 19, offering a wide variety of sacrificial animals in different colors and breeds,” they said.
Shahbab Khan, Administrator of Cattle-Friendly Market 2025, will hold a media briefing on Friday, April 18, to outline the market’s arrangements and facilities.
For the first time, a token system has been introduced to facilitate buyers and traders. “For every animal purchased, a token will be issued. These tokens must be shown when exiting the market, ensuring a smooth and secure departure with your livestock,” officials stated, adding that the initiative aims to enhance the safety and management of animal movement within the market.
Additionally, to support financial transactions, ATMs will be available within the market premises for traders and buyers.
In a customer-friendly move, a 50% discount has been announced on parking fees to encourage public participation.
Traders in the general blocks are allowed to bring their standard tents. Meanwhile, those setting up in VIP and VVIP blocks will benefit from significant concessions—either by renting tents from the administration at discounted rates or paying reduced charges for setting up their tents, depending on the space occupied.
The organizers emphasized that all tents must meet the market’s standards. In cases where standard tents are not available, traders can opt to rent from the administration at a subsidized rate.
Even before the market’s official launch, early-arriving traders and livestock owners from Punjab and Sindh are already being provided with comprehensive support and facilities.
