The Saudi Ministry of Tourism has directed all hospitality establishments in Makkah to refrain from accommodating individuals who do not hold a valid Hajj permit or an official work/residency entry permit during the Hajj season.
As reported by the Saudi Gazette, the directive will be enforced from April 29 (Dhul Qadah 1, 1446) and remain in effect until the end of the Hajj season. In a parallel move, the Ministry of Interior has also announced that, from the same date, individuals with any visa other than a Hajj visa will be prohibited from entering or staying in Makkah.
To streamline the process, the ministry, in collaboration with the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA)—has launched the Tasreeh Platform, a unified digital system for issuing Hajj permits.
Key Features of the Tasreeh Platform:
-
Integrated with the Nusuk platform, it facilitates the issuance of permits for both domestic and international pilgrims.
-
Also grants access to workers, volunteers, and vehicles supporting Hajj operations.
-
Permits are viewable through the Tawakkalna app.
The platform, developed with input from all relevant government agencies, aims to:
-
Improve coordination among Hajj service providers.
-
Standardize procedures during the pilgrimage.
-
Enhance service quality to ensure a smooth and comfortable Hajj experience.
Security personnel at Makkah’s entry points can now verify permits digitally through the Maidan application, making the process faster and more efficient.
The Tasreeh Platform marks a major advancement in the use of smart technologies to manage the massive logistics of Hajj, ensuring better regulation and improved services for all pilgrims.
