Hungary has announced 400 fully funded scholarships for Pakistani students.
The announcement was made during Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó’s visit to Islamabad, where several agreements were signed to boost bilateral cooperation.
The scholarships, aimed at supporting talented Pakistani students, are part of Hungary’s ongoing academic exchange program.
Szijjártó revealed that more than 1,700 applications have already been received from Pakistan.
Speaking at a joint press conference with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Szijjártó emphasized the importance of education in deepening ties between the two countries. He said that Hungary views Pakistan as a sincere partner and values the contribution of Pakistani professionals.
Dar welcomed the scholarships, saying they would help students gain international exposure and contribute positively to Pakistan’s development. He thanked Hungary for its continued support in areas such as education, trade, and diplomacy.
The announcement comes as Pakistan and Hungary mark 60 years of diplomatic relations. Both countries also signed agreements on trade, industry, and cultural exchange during the visit.
