Nothing has been making waves with its recent launches, including the Nothing Phone (3a) and (3a) Pro, and is set to debut the Nothing Phone (3) in Q3 2025.
CEO Carl Pei confirmed the timeline for the release of the highly anticipated Nothing Phone (3) during an AMA session on X (formerly Twitter). The launch window for the Nothing Phone (3) is now confirmed to be between July and September 2025, which means fans will have to wait until the second half of the year for the flagship’s release.
When Will the Nothing Phone (3) Launch?
In response to a direct query about the release date, Carl Pei revealed that Q3 2025 is the planned launch window for the Nothing Phone (3). This places the launch between July and September 2025, making it likely that the device could debut around the same time as the Nothing Phone (2), which was released on July 11, 2023.
What We Know So Far About the Nothing Phone (3)
Though hardware details have not been fully disclosed, Carl Pei teased that the Nothing Phone (3) will introduce “breakthrough innovations in the user interface”. This indicates that the company is focusing on an enhanced, user-centered experience, possibly driven by AI integration.
The phone is expected to be a significant step forward in Nothing’s development of an AI-powered platform, following the success of features like the Essential Space AI hub, introduced with the Nothing Phone (3a) series.
It is rumored that the Nothing Phone (3) will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC or the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, offering a boost in performance and efficiency compared to its predecessors. For context, the Nothing Phone (2) was launched in India with a price tag of Rs 44,999.
AI Integration and Essential Space
AI integration has been one of Nothing’s key focuses in recent devices. The Nothing Phone (3) is expected to continue this trend, building upon the AI-powered Essential Space that was introduced with the Phone (3a) series.
Carl Pei hinted that the upcoming Essential Space will have deeper integration with calendar and other system apps, improving the overall functionality of the device and providing users with a smarter, more intuitive experience.
How Long Does It Take to Develop a Phone?
During the AMA session, Carl Pei also discussed the typical development timeline for smartphones. He mentioned that from concept to final production, it usually takes 9 to 18 months depending on the novelty and complexity of the product.
This further supports the timeline for the Nothing Phone (3), which has been in the works for several months, with much of the innovation likely focused on the AI-powered platform and user experience.
