Pakistan’s unbeaten campaign at the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 Qualifier has been rewarded with four players named in the prestigious Team of the Tournament, with Fatima Sana honored as captain.
Alongside Fatima, Muneeba Ali, Nashra Sandhu, and Sadia Iqbal earned spots in the elite lineup selected by a panel of experts, including commentators Andrew Leonard, Marina Iqbal, Kainat Imtiaz, and Joel Manning.
Muneeba Ali, opening alongside West Indies’ Hayley Matthews, impressed with 223 runs, including half-centuries against Scotland and Bangladesh. Matthews, who topped the wicket-taking charts with 13 scalps, also made headlines with an unbeaten century and the second fastest half-century in women’s ODI history.
Bangladesh’s Sharmin Akhter secured the number three spot after a consistent tournament, scoring 266 runs at an average of 66.50, including a 94 not out against Thailand. Scotland’s Kathryn Bryce, the tournament’s leading run-scorer and Player of the Tournament, followed with a majestic 131 not out against Ireland and six wickets throughout the competition.
Bangladesh’s Nigar Sultana was named wicketkeeper after playing a crucial role in her team’s qualification, scoring three consecutive significant innings. Pakistan’s captain Fatima Sana shone with both bat and ball, scoring 106 runs and taking 12 wickets at an economy rate below four runs per over, leading Pakistan to five wins and a top-table finish.
West Indies’ Chinelle Henry and Aaliyah Alleyne strengthened the lower middle order, with Alleyne taking 12 wickets and Henry delivering powerful batting performances. Scotland’s Katherine Fraser and Pakistan’s Nashra Sandhu also made the cut for their all-round contributions.
Pakistan’s Sadia Iqbal rounded out the team with nine wickets at an impressive economy rate, while Bangladesh’s Rabeya Khan was named 12th player for her key wickets in crucial matches.
