The Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment (BEOE) has reported that 172,144 Pakistani workers went abroad for employment during the first three months of 2025.
The report highlights that Saudi Arabia remained the top destination, receiving 121,970 Pakistani workers, followed by Qatar (12,989), Oman (8,331), and the UAE (6,891).
Other countries that received Pakistani workers include Bahrain (939), Malaysia (775), China (592), Azerbaijan (350), Germany (264), Greece (815), Turkey (870), Italy (109), Japan (108), UK (1,454), and the US (257).
Among the skilled professionals, 1,479 engineers, 849 doctors, 390 nurses, and 3,474 technicians secured jobs overseas. The report also shows that 1,689 cooks, 1,058 welders, 2,130 electricians, and 436 teachers were among those who migrated.
Additionally, 38,274 drivers and 1,859 masons were sent abroad under various employment contracts.
Officials said the growing demand for skilled and semi-skilled Pakistani workers abroad reflects international confidence in the country’s workforce, especially in the Gulf and European markets.
