Govt Proposes Rs. 2 Trillion Development Funds for FY26 Budget

The federal government is planning to allocate Rs. 2,000 billion under the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) for the next fiscal year, official sources told ProPakistani.

The proposal prioritizes the completion of ongoing development projects, with fewer than 100 new schemes expected to be added.

Sources said the PSDP for the upcoming fiscal year will include around 650 development projects. In the current fiscal year, 230 projects are set to be completed, while 168 will be removed from the development program.

The total cost of development projects may also be revised downward from Rs. 11,000 billion to Rs. 9,000 billion. Federal ministries have submitted lists of proposed new projects to the Planning Commission, which is currently reviewing them for potential inclusion in next fiscal year’s PSDP.
