Lahore is Getting Futuristic Traffic Police Cabins for Easy Driving License Issuance

To make traffic services more accessible, Lahore Traffic Police has launched modern kiosks at key intersections, allowing citizens to apply for and collect driving licenses on the spot.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Dr. Athar Waheed said the initiative is inspired by systems used in developed countries. The first kiosk has been installed at Afshan Chowk on Mall Road, where citizens can now get motorcycle licences and receive other related services.

The kiosk is equipped with advanced technology and includes a loudspeaker system for traffic control. Wardens will be stationed there 24/7, with facilities such as air conditioning, cold drinking water, and rest areas provided for their comfort.

Dr. Waheed added that more kiosks will be introduced across Lahore, including areas like Gulberg and Iqbal Town, in the next phases. This project is being implemented on the direction of the Chief Minister of Punjab and supervised by SP Headquarters Mansoor-ul-Hassan.

The goal is to provide modern, on-the-spot traffic services while improving convenience and efficiency for both the public and traffic wardens.
