Punjab Launches Smart Driving License Centers in Another District

The Gujranwala traffic police have launched six Rehbar Centers to streamline the process of issuing and renewing driving licenses, including learner’s, international, light, and heavy transport vehicle permits.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Ayesha Butt inaugurated the centers, which are built on a smart office model to offer modern, efficient services to the public.

The initiative aims to reduce traffic accidents and promote legal driving habits in a city where the population has now crossed 2.3 million, with millions of vehicles—mostly motorcycles—on the roads daily.

Three of the new Rehbar Centers are already operational at Dastagir Chowk, Chunda Qila, and Jinnah Interchange. All locations are equipped with a wireless traffic management system and offer services such as issuance of learner’s, duplicate, international, and motorcycle licenses.

Additionally, citizens can register traffic complaints and access information about road conditions and government departments.

CTO Ayesha Butt emphasized that over 1.5 million licenses have already been issued and highlighted the importance of public cooperation. She urged citizens to follow traffic rules and to never allow underage individuals to drive, as part of a broader push to ensure safer roads in Gujranwala.
