Betting Games Are Using Fake AI Videos of Pakistani Actors for Promotion

Fraudulent mobile betting games on the Google Play Store are using fake AI-generated videos of Pakistani actors to lure unsuspecting users into get-rich-quick schemes.

In one case, an ad shows a deepfake video of Pakistani actor Imran Abbas promoting Destroy Space Rocks, a betting game that falsely promises easy money. The deceptive ad even shows fake Easypaisa payment notifications suggesting users receive instant payouts. Easypaisa has no connection to these applications. We have contacted Easypaisa for comment and will update accordingly.

Here is what the ad looks like.

The mobile game Deep Space Rocks currently has more than 50,000 downloads on the Google Play Store and has a 4.2-star rating out of 5. It is made by a developer called Xplancerdev, who has two other apps on the Google Play Store, Nokengo User and Questify. While we haven’t confirmed if these apps are fraudulent, we advise steering clear just in case.

Another similar scam uses an AI-generated video of Indian business magnate Mukesh Ambani to establish false credibility. These misleading ads frequently appear across YouTube, Facebook, and other social platforms.

It is worth mentioning that Imran Abbas, Mukesh Ambani, or any other celebrities or influencers shown in these ads are in no way associated with these ads.

We at ProPakistani urge users to avoid these fraudulent apps that employ deceptive marketing tactics and promote unrealistic money-making schemes. The growing sophistication of AI-generated content presents increasing challenges for platforms and consumers in identifying and avoiding such scams.
