Petition Filed to Ban Soft Drinks and Juices in Schools

A petition has been filed in the Lahore High Court requesting a prohibition on selling and consuming soft drinks and synthetic juices in Punjab’s schools.

The petitioner, Azam Butt, represented by his counsel Rana Sikandar, argued that these beverages contain artificial colouring agents that are used to enhance flavour but pose health risks.

He highlighted that while similar products have already been banned in schools across Sindh, they remain readily available to students in Punjab.

The petition urges the court to ban these drinks in both government and private educational institutions throughout the province.
