The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has denied reports circulating on social media about a planned blackout in Rawalpindi and surrounding areas.
IESCO clarified that no instructions have been issued to shut down any grid stations and that electricity supply across the IESCO region is continuing without interruption.
IESCO officials confirmed that they are in constant communication with the district administration and other relevant institutions. They urged the public not to believe in unverified rumors spreading online.
While the district administration may have advised citizens to take precautionary measures, there have been no official orders for a complete blackout or closure of grid stations, IESCO said.
IESCO teams remain on high alert, and senior officers are present in shifts at the Islamabad control room to monitor the situation and ensure stable power supply, the statement added.
