Microsoft has announced a range of new artificial intelligence-powered features aimed at improving the user experience across Copilot+ PCs and Windows 11. The update focuses on expanding contextual assistance, automating tasks, and bringing smart features to more devices.
AI Agent for Copilot+ PCs
Among the most notable additions is a new on-device AI assistant called Agent. This tool is designed to help users make system-level adjustments through natural language commands. For example, users can request help with tasks such as controlling the computer by voice or increasing the size of the mouse pointer. If given permission, the agent is capable of performing these actions directly on the user’s behalf.
Initially, this feature will support only English-language queries, but Microsoft has indicated that more languages will be added in future updates. The rollout will begin with Copilot+ PCs powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon chips, while support for Intel and AMD systems will follow.
Enhanced Click to Do Capabilities
Microsoft is also improving its Click to Do function within Copilot. This feature allows the AI to perform tasks based on what is currently visible on the screen. With the latest update, users will be able to prompt the AI to draft written content in Word, convert selected text into bulleted lists, or transfer data into Excel.
It can also operate scheduling and messaging tasks in Microsoft Teams, as well as activate accessibility tools like Reading Coach and Immersive Reader—all without requiring users to switch apps.
New Features for All Windows 11 Devices
While Copilot+ PCs are receiving the most attention, Microsoft has not left other Windows 11 users behind. Updates to the operating system will include enhanced customization options for the Start menu and new AI-powered tools integrated into File Explorer. Additionally, the Copilot app itself will gain the ability to view and interpret the user’s screen through a new feature called Copilot Vision, which will allow for more personalized assistance.
Microsoft has not provided a specific timeline for the full rollout of these features. However, the company confirmed that the updates will first arrive on Snapdragon-powered Copilot+ PCs, followed by broader availability across other platforms.
