Capital Smart Motors (CSM), a subsidiary of Habib Rafiq Engineering, has confirmed plans to introduce the Riddara RD6 electric pickup truck in Pakistan. This marks the local entry of Riddara, also known as Radar Auto, a sub-brand of China’s Geely Auto Group focused on electric utility vehicles.
The announcement follows a recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between CSM and Geely. The agreement outlines a partnership to bring multiple electric vehicle (EV) brands under the Geely umbrella to the Pakistani market. In addition to Riddara, CSM plans to introduce Zeekr—Geely’s premium EV brand—and Farizon, which specializes in commercial electric vehicles. Specific launch dates have not been disclosed.
The RD6 is currently available in international markets with both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive options. It offers an estimated range between 373 km and 455 km based on China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC) standards. While global versions emphasize utility features such as rapid acceleration and high payload capacity, local specifications for Pakistan are yet to be confirmed.
Riddara Auto is operated by Radar New Energy Automobile (Zhejiang) Co., Ltd., which falls under the Geely Auto Group. Geely, through its parent company Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, owns several major global automotive brands, including Volvo, Lotus, Lynk & Co, and Zeekr.
CSM is expected to leverage its real estate infrastructure, particularly projects like Capital Smart City and Lahore Smart City, to support EV deployment. The company has previously stated its intention to integrate EV adoption into broader urban planning and mobility strategies.
