Operation Salar: Pakistani Hackers Launch Cyber Attack on India

Following a dramatic escalation of digital tensions between Pakistan and India, a group of Pakistani hackers has launched “Operation Salar,” a coordinated cyber offensive aimed at retaliating against what they describe as sustained Indian cyberattacks and digital propaganda.

Sources say the campaign is a direct response to recent cyber intrusions by Indian groups, as well as alleged human rights violations in Indian-occupied Kashmir.

As part of the first wave of attacks, the hackers reportedly breached four major Indian websites, planting the Pakistani flag and extracting sensitive data to demonstrate their reach.

Described by its creators as “a warning, not the end,” Operation Salar signals the beginning of a broader cyber conflict. The hackers emphasize that their mission is to defend Pakistan’s digital sovereignty and push back against anti-Pakistan narratives.

The operation has sparked widespread support on social media under the hashtag #OperationSalar, with users calling for broader digital strikes on Indian media, finance, and defence targets.

Cybersecurity agencies in both countries are reportedly on high alert, as experts warn that the digital standoff could further intensify in the coming days.
