This Realme Phone Has a Monster 10,000 mAh Battery Despite Being 8.5mm Thin

Realme has revealed a prototype smartphone featuring a ginormous 10,000 mAh battery while maintaining an ultra-thin profile of just 8.5mm and a weight of only 215 grams. This engineering feat was highlighted in a recent unboxing video shared by Chace Xu, President of Realme Global Marketing.

Smallest Android Motherboard Yet

To achieve this battery milestone, Realme incorporated a silicon-anode battery with 10% silicon content, reaching an energy density of 887Wh/L. To free up additional internal space for the battery, the company also developed the smallest Android motherboard yet, measuring only 23.4mm in height.

This combination allowed the phone to accommodate an exceptionally large battery without sacrificing slimness or weight.

Video Demonstration

Xu’s two-minute video showcases the prototype device in full, detailing the design and internal engineering. The visuals include multiple angles of the phone and a breakdown of its components, offering a rare look into how Realme managed to compress high-capacity power into a standard-sized smartphone body.

Although the prototype demonstrates Realme’s progress in battery and hardware innovation, the device is not slated for public release. Instead, it serves as a testing ground for upcoming models, including the Realme GT 7 series, which is expected to feature smaller—yet still significant—battery capacities.

Additionally, it showcases how it is very much possible to fit a humongous battery capacity in a compact footprint. Whether Realme plans to make this technology available in future commercially available smartphones remains to be seen.
