The Punjab government has announced early summer vacations for all afternoon schools across the province starting from May 21, 2025, citing rising temperatures.
According to a notification issued by the School Education Department, all public and private schools in Punjab will remain closed for summer vacations from May 28 to August 14, 2025.
However, a separate directive has been issued for afternoon shift schools, which will now shut down earlier, starting from May 21, 2025.
All schools are scheduled to reopen on August 15, 2025.
The notification directs all Chief Executive Officers (DEAs) to strictly ensure implementation of the orders across their respective districts.
The announcement comes amid rising concerns over heatwaves, and the decision is aimed at safeguarding the health of students and staff.
