The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has officially announced summer vacations for all government and private schools across the province.
According to a notification issued by the KP Department of Education:
- In summer zone (plains areas):
- Primary schools will observe holidays from June 1 to August 31.
- Middle, high, and higher secondary schools will close from June 15 to August 31.
- In winter zone areas:
- All schools will observe summer break from July 1 to July 31.
The decision has been made to accommodate the seasonal climate variations in different regions of the province.
A day earlier, the Punjab government also announced summer vacations due to the ongoing severe heatwave. According to Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat, all schools across the province will begin their summer break from May 28.
To safeguard students until the vacations begin, the Punjab government has also revised school timings. All schools will now operate from 7:30 am to 11:30 am until the break comes into effect.
