New Jeep Fares Announced for Popular Tourist Destinations

The Office of the Assistant Commissioner, Balakot, has issued a new notification introducing revised tourist transport fares and a comprehensive traffic management plan for Naran Bazaar to facilitate visitors during the ongoing tourism season in Kaghan Valley.

According to the notification, authorities have approved fixed round-trip fares for popular tourist destinations. A jeep ride from Naran to Babusar will cost Rs. 12,000, while the fare to Babusar Top via Suzuki Carry or Yellow Cab has been set at Rs. 9,000.

Other approved fares include Rs. 5,500 for Lake Saif-ul-Malook, Rs. 4,500 for Lalazar and Shogran, Rs. 8,000 for Siri Paye from Kiwai, and Rs. 5,500 from Shogran to Siri Paye.

The notification also introduces several traffic restrictions in Naran Bazaar. Two-way traffic has been banned, while vehicles entering the bazaar from Jheel Road and MNJ Road will no longer be allowed. Instead, all incoming traffic must enter from the Go Petrol Pump side.

Tourist vehicles leaving hotels, restaurants, and commercial establishments will be required to use the bypass road, while parking inside Naran Bazaar has been strictly prohibited. Authorities have also banned the entry of jeeps into the main bazaar to reduce congestion during the busy tourist season.

In addition, the Kaghan Development Authority (KDA) has been directed to establish a tourist complaint desk and install additional traffic diversion, guidance, and no-parking signboards at key locations. The new measures took immediate effect following a stakeholders’ meeting chaired by the Assistant Commissioner on May 22.
