IT Ministry Seeks 100% E-Office Usage in Ministries, Attached Departments and SOEs

The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) has formally sought implementation reports on the 100% adoption of the E-Office system from all State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), attached departments, regulatory bodies, and ministries.

The directive follows a cabinet decision issued on May 19, 2025, which emphasized the immediate integration of government entities with the digital system to enhance efficiency and transparency.

According to the cabinet’s decisions referenced in the notification issued by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) on May 20, 2025, all SOEs and regulatory authorities must be integrated with the E-Office system without delay. The notification also underlined that all ministries were required to achieve complete adoption of the system by December 31, 2024. Ministries and divisions are now being asked to provide evidence of compliance through signed certificates, with MoITT tasked with compiling a consolidated report for submission to the Prime Minister’s Office and the Cabinet Division.

The government has introduced a performance-based incentive mechanism as part of the implementation push. The top three ministries or divisions that demonstrate the most effective and timely integration of the E-Office system will be publicly recognized on August 14, 2025. This initiative is expected to promote healthy competition among federal entities and reinforce a culture of digital governance.

Cybersecurity has been identified as a critical component of the E-Office rollout. The cabinet has directed the Ministry of IT and Telecom to ensure robust cybersecurity protocols across all digital office platforms. Administrative secretaries of various departments have also been instructed to actively sensitize their respective organizations on the urgency and importance of adopting the system.
