Massive Crackdown Launched Against E-Challan Defaulters in Lahore

The Lahore Traffic Police has launched a major operation against the top 1,000 vehicles that have repeatedly failed to pay their e-challans. The crackdown, led by Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Dr. Athar Waheed, will now also include government vehicles among those facing action.

According to the CTO, 12 dedicated recovery teams have been formed to identify and trace defaulter vehicles across the city using Safe City surveillance data. On-the-spot fine collection is being carried out as part of the initiative.

So far, authorities have caught more than 300 vehicles with outstanding e-challans. In one surprising case, a motorcycle was found with 313 unpaid traffic violations, amounting to a total fine of Rs. 335,300.

CTO Dr. Waheed stated that several vehicles belonging to government departments are also among the top violators. A separate list of these official vehicles has been prepared, and action against them is expected soon.

The traffic department is urging all citizens to settle their outstanding fines to avoid further legal consequences.
