Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan has stressed the urgent need to begin construction on key road projects in Sindh, especially the long-delayed M-6 and M-10 motorways.
Speaking in Karachi after meeting Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, he said construction on both motorways will start simultaneously.
The minister added that both projects would be linked directly to Karachi Port, calling this connection essential for their success. “Without access to the port, these motorways won’t serve their full purpose,” he said.
The M-6 Motorway, costing about Rs. 400 billion, is divided into five sections. Funding has been finalized for two, while talks continue for the rest. Aleem Khan also promised solutions for Karachi’s Lyari Expressway and Sohrab Goth traffic issues.
He called motorways the “backbone of the economy” and urged local and international investors to support infrastructure growth in Pakistan.
