Students Faint During Exam Due to Intense Heat

The ongoing heatwave took a toll on students in Punjab as two female students fell ill during their First-Year examinations on Monday due to intense heat. Both incidents occurred in Vehari district and were swiftly handled by Rescue 1122 teams, who provided on-site medical assistance.

The first incident was reported at Block H Girls High School, where a student became unwell during the exam. A second case followed shortly from Municipal High School Burewala, involving another student experiencing similar symptoms.

Rescue 1122 teams arrived promptly at both locations and administered first aid. Thankfully, neither student required hospitalisation. Emergency personnel provided rehydration drinks and medical support, allowing the students to recover without needing further medical intervention.

In one case, a Rescue staff member, Firdous Ali, administered an IV drip to stabilise the student at the scene.

Azeem Jutt, Media Coordinator for Rescue 1122, emphasized the team’s commitment to rapid emergency response, especially during the summer months when heat-related illnesses are more common.

Officials have urged educational institutions to take extra precautions to ensure student safety during the ongoing heatwave.
