Imad Wasim Reveals the Toughest Players He Has Faced

All-rounder Imad Wasim shared his thoughts on the best players he faced throughout his career during an exclusive ProPakistani’s How Does it Work? Podcast. Rashid Khan is regarded as the best player in the history of T20 cricket, and veteran all-rounder Imad Wasim agrees with that assessment.

In the podcast, the former international was asked about his toughest opponents, and before a second’s thought, Imad mentioned the former Afghanistan captain.

Rashid Khan has built a formidable reputation as one of the most dependable cricketing stars in the shortest format of the game. Equally destructive with both the bat and the ball, his miserly spells and powerful cameos have delivered many victories and titles for his numerous franchises around the world. With 643 wickets and 2,589 runs to his name, it is easy to see why Imad picked Rashid as the toughest player he has faced.

The 36-year-old wasn’t done, though. He also singled out India’s Jasprit Bumrah and former Pakistani pacer Mohammad Amir as the toughest bowlers to face in a game.

When it comes to batters, Imad Wasim offered a mix of experience and raw firepower. He named Kamran Akmal, Shoaib Malik, Sharjeel Khan, and Nicholas Pooran as the most dangerous batters he’s bowled to.

While Akmal, Malik, and Sharjeel aren’t as active as the West Indian, Imad was quick to give Pooran his flowers. He also expressed a desire to test his mettle against one of the most feared batters in the world right now, South Africa’s Heinrich Klaasen.

Imad’s insight reflects not only his experience but also his understanding of the modern game—both tactically and mentally. Having played in leagues around the world and in high-pressure international fixtures, his words carry weight. And as someone who has stood toe-to-toe with the best, his list offers a telling glimpse into who truly stands out in today’s cricketing landscape.
