Two Separate Summer Vacation Schedules Announced for Colleges and Universities

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has announced summer vacations for all public and private colleges, universities, and higher education institutions across the province.

According to an official notification issued on Friday, educational institutions located in hot zones will remain closed from June 1 to August 15. In contrast, institutions in winter zones will observe a shorter break from July 1 to July 31.

The notification, issued by the Higher Education, Archives and Libraries Department, applies to all public and private colleges and universities in the province.

However, it clarified that the BS (4-year) and associate degree program classes and exams will continue as scheduled, in line with the approved academic calendar.

The provincial government has circulated the notification to key stakeholders, including the Governor, Chief Minister, administrative secretaries, vice-chancellors of universities, the Higher Education Regulatory Authority, and other relevant bodies.

The announcement comes amid rising temperatures in parts of the province, with the aim of ensuring the safety and well-being of students and staff.
