Punjab Approves Rs. 400 Million Grant for Phase-II of Housing Society for Journalists

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz presided over a cabinet meeting in Lahore, where the provincial government approved a Rs400 million grant for the Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) to acquire land for Phase 2 of the Punjab Journalist Housing Foundation.

The cabinet gave swift approval for the transfer of the grant, following the proposal’s presentation by Information Minister Azma Bukhari. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and the attending cabinet members promptly endorsed the initiative.

Among those present were Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, Information Minister Azma Bukhari, and other key cabinet officials.

In addition to the housing project, the cabinet approved several other measures, including:

  • Upgradation of the Punjab government’s helicopter
  • Punjab Senior Citizens Welfare Bill
  • Child Protection Policy

These approvals reflect the government’s ongoing commitment to infrastructure development, welfare initiatives, and enhanced protection for vulnerable groups across the province.
